Pair of Ash 'Universal' Tennis Posts

Traditional hand made American Ash timber posts and bases, as used at Wimbledon.

Complete with brass winder and cast iron shoes to hook into cast iron ground bases.

Set comprises 1 anchor post, 1 winder post with winder mechanism and 2 ground cast iron base systems.

Wooden tennis posts should be maintained annually by lightly sanding down the surface and applying 1-2 coats of yacht varnish. Appropriate precautions (dust mask/goggles/gloves) should be taken.

Whilst the wooden tennis posts are completely weatherproof and can be used throughout the year, to further prolong the life of the posts you can remove them from the court during prolonged periods of bad weather and store them in a dry location.

To maintain the winder mechanism we suggest the use of a light spray grease, such as WD-40 Grease (rather than the more common WD-40 lubricant). With the tube nozzle and careful application you can target it directly onto the spindle and gears without it getting on to the cogs, the headline wire or the net itself.
