The additional length allows you to bowl off a full length, just like on a main wicket! This pitch is also perfect for junior matches played from a single end, as well as for garden practice.

What is it made of?

The Flicx Senior Batting End is constructed from small, interlocking thermo-plastic tiles made of Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE). This specially designed LDPE material is chemically engineered for heavy-duty performance, making it perfect for cricket. With proper maintenance following the provided guidelines, Flicx Pitches can last over 5 years. In fact, many of the first pitches made in 1997 are still in excellent condition, thanks to their exceptional durability and UV protection, which ensures they perform well even in extreme conditions.

Can I use a cricket ball on it?

The Senior Match Batting End can be used for both hardball and softball formats! You can also use bowling machine balls on the surface.

Where can I use the pitch?

This pitch is lightweight and portable enough for both indoor and outdoor cricket use. All you need is a firm, flat base to roll the pitch out on and you are ready to start playing. The pitch can be used on other surfaces such as astroturf, concrete (although this will produce a high bounce so a shockpad is required under the Flicx Pitch). 3G rubber crumb pitches but only if the rubber is less than 50% of the infill and wooden sprung floors.

Can I put the pitch down on grass in my garden?

Absolutely! The surface beneath the pitch must be firm and even, with no high spots or divots. This ensures the pitch sits flush, providing a consistent and realistic bounce for both batting and bowling, while also protecting the lawn underneath. For detailed guidance, please check out our installation advice. The key points are to ensure the grass is no taller than 15mm and to flatten any uneven areas. Flicx pitches protect the grass or wicket underneath, whether laid in your garden, on the outfield, or on the main square!

Can I use the pitch in the rain?

Flicx cricket pitches can be used when damp, but they are not recommended for use when wet. Flicx 2G cricket pitches are made from a second-generation polyethylene material that is designed to reduce surface slipperiness when wet.

What is included in my order?

This pitch is easy to set up and comes with a strap to secure it when rolled up, installation guide, and "6 Steps to Success" for effective training.

How long will it take to arrive and what is the warranty?

Each 2G Flicx Pitch is hand made to order in the UK and lead times are typically 3-5 working days. Every 2G Flicx Pitch comes with a five-year warranty which covers any manufacturing defects.

What else do I need to know about it?

The pitch tiles provide cushioning support to prevent fatigue and reduce the risk of injuries, whilst also giving a consistent and reliable bounce for both bowlers and batsmen allowing you to play your shots in confidence and hit the pitch hard as a bowler.

All tiles are UV-Protected with 5 years colourfast stabilisation and are able to withstand all weather extremes. The small textures tiles are also self-draining, allowing water to flow through to the ground underneath and encourage growth of grass beneath the pitch.

2G Flicx Pitch surfaces meet the Sports Council Draft 'Specification for Artificial Sports Surfaces' as well as also meeting British Standards for Critical Fall Heights and Fire Rating.
