The 2G Flicx Extra Length Match Pitch, featuring a vibrant green colour with embedded white crease markings, is, in our view, the most versatile senior cricket pitch available, all at a fraction of the cost of other artificial pitches. Supplied in two half-pitch rolls, it offers the flexibility to be used as two batting ends in nets or on the outfield. When clipped together in the centre, it forms a complete match surface. Additionally, there is an extra 1-yard run-off behind each crease, providing valuable space for bowlers, as their delivery stride lands directly on the pitch.

What is it made of?

The Flicx Extra Length Cricket Match Pitch is made using small interlocking thermo-plastic tiles made from Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE). The LDPE material is specifically designed and chemically formulated for heavy duty performance and is ideally suited for cricket use. The pitch gives you excellent grip under foot and traction for both spin and pace bowlers.

Can I use a cricket ball on it?

The Flicx Extra Length Cricket Match Pitch can be used for both hardball and softball formats! You can also use bowling machine balls on the surface.

Where can I use the pitch?

This pitch is designed to be lightweight and portable, making it perfect for both indoor and outdoor cricket. Simply find a firm, flat surface to roll it out, and you're ready to play. It can be used on various surfaces such as astroturf, concrete (though this creates a higher bounce, so a shockpad should be placed under the Flicx Pitch), 3G rubber crumb pitches (provided the rubber content is under 50% of the infill), and wooden sprung floors.

Can I put the pitch down on grass in my garden?

Yes you can! The under surface must be firm with no high spots or divots, so the pitch sits flush to the under surface which will then give a consistent and realistic bounce to practice batting and bowling on with no damage to the lawn underneath. For more information please read the installation advice, but the main thing is to make sure the grass is not higher than 15mm high and to flatten any high or low areas. Flicx pitches protect the grass or wicket underneath, whether laid in your garden, on the outfield, or on the main square!

Can I use the pitch in the rain?

Flicx cricket pitches can be used when damp, but they are not recommended for use when wet. Flicx 2G cricket mats are made from a second-generation polyethylene material that is designed to reduce surface slipperiness when wet.

How durable is the pitch?

The lifespan of Flicx Pitches when maintained in line with the guidance is well beyond 5 years, indeed many of the first pitches manufactured in 1997 are still going strong as they are exceptional durable and the UV protections added means they perform in extreme conditions.

What is included in my order?

How long will it take to arrive and what is the warranty?

Each 2G Flicx Pitch is hand made to order in the UK and lead times are typically 3-5 working days. Every 2G Flicx Pitch comes with a five-year warranty which covers any manufacturing defects.

What else do I need to know about it?

The pitch tiles provide cushioning support to prevent fatigue and reduce the risk of injuries, whilst also giving a consistent and reliable bounce for both bowlers and batsmen allowing you to play your shots in confidence and hit the pitch hard as a bowler.

All tiles are UV-Protected with 5 years colourfast stabilisation and are able to withstand all weather extremes. The small textures tiles are also self-draining, allowing water to flow through to the ground underneath and encourage growth of grass beneath the pitch.

2G Flicx Pitch surfaces meet the Sports Council Draft ‘Specification for Artificial Sports Surfaces’ as well as also meeting British Standards for Critical Fall Heights and Fire Rating.
